Modoc Pitchers Shut Down  The Royals

 

    Modoc defeated Royals 8-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Steve Hahn struck out Hunter Park to finish off the game.

 

In the first inning, Modoc got their offense started. James Gardner singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Royals was a single by Richard Campel in the second inning.

 

Mike Wheeler earned the win for Modoc. He allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Bill Kelly and Hahn entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

 

Ron Glenn took the loss for Royals. He allowed five hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

 

Modoc racked up nine hits in the game. Gardner and Chris Cec each managed multiple hits for Modoc. Gardner led Modoc with three hits in four at bats.

 

Campel went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Royals in hits.

North Texas Amateur Baseball League All-Star Games

On behalf of the North Texas Amateur Baseball League (NTABL), Frisco RoughRiders and Dr Pepper Snapple Group, thank you for supporting the All-Star Games to be held at Dr Pepper Ballpark on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Last year’s event netted over $29,000. The “kid-friendly” event includes four games featuring the area’s best amateur baseball players age 18 and older beginning at 8:30 a.m. and running throughout the day.
